COURSE OVERVIEW

This course aims to provide the delegates with an awareness of environmental issues and risks related to PDO activities and operations, and the means by which such issues can be managed.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the training the candidate will be able to:

  • Outline PDO’s operations and activity environmental hazards and risks
  • Explain the legal environment and key environmental limits PDO needs to comply with
  • Describe the requirements for environmental impact assessments within PDO projects at the planning stage
  • Outline environmental improvement measures

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course aims to provide the delegates with an awareness of environmental issues and risks related to PDO activities and operations, and the means by which such issues can be managed.

Course Outline

  • General environmental concerns
  • PDO specific environmental issues, e.g. oil spills; waste handling, emissions to the atmosphere
  • Management of oil spills, waste handling, and environmental risk management
  • The Omani legal and regulatory requirements related to the environment and permit requirements
  • PDO’s environmental specifications
  • Aspect/Impact of different activities/projects and their management

Who should attend?

  • Operations, drilling, well services and project team staff.

Pre-Requisites

  • Valid Heavy Goods Vehicle ROP License
  • Valid Heavy Goods Vehicle DDC Permit
  • Minimum thirty years of age and maximum sixty years
  • Fitness to work certificate for candidates above 50, issued by an approved clinic
  • Five years of heavy vehicle driving experience
  • HSE Passport

Successful candidates will receive a certificate issued by Al JOOD
